This short piece explains why some ebola victims avoid hospitals and doctors. It is from July, so the death statistic they quote is 700. By now (Sept 12) the number is over 2000. Here is the History Channel's coverage of the Plague from its "History's Turning Points" series. It's quite good, makes important points about the plague's origins, its spread, how the disease affected people, and how individuals and the church responded. It might even help with your homework. Frankly, though, I much prefer this shorter piece which, in less than 3 minutes, leaves a strong impression of the plague's most important impact. Thanks "Horrible Histories". |
